Lucy Schanzer, LPS Perinatal

Perinatal Support Specialist

Lucy Schanzer, Perinatal Support Specialist

Lucy, founder of LPS Perinatal, is a perinatal support specialist, helping people to better take care of themselves before, during and after pregnancy. Every pregnancy, every birth, every postpartum and every child is different. Lucy created LPS Perinatal as a way of embracing this idea with the belief that knowledge is incredibly empowering, especially when met with open-mindedness and flexibility.

Lucy’s journey into perinatal work is quite connected to her personal journey into parenthood.

Springing from a gratefulness for a positive first birth experience coupled with a trying second birth experience, Lucy grew interested in helping fill the need for a range of perinatal support. Lucy’s offerings intertwine her certifications in Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Trauma, Maternal Mental Health and Childbirth Education to best prepare clients for their unique perinatal experience.

Yoga for Trauma

Yoga fosters a strong mind and body connection. Trauma can make this connection difficult. Yoga for trauma provides a path to safely and respectfully repair this disconnect. This specific yoga practice can be especially beneficial for expecting people who have been affected by violence and/or sexual assault. The perinatal time frame can be triggering due to changes in and lack of sensitivity around the body. This practice can also benefit expecting or new parents experiencing or who are concerned about the possibility of developing a PMAD (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder).
$35 per person.

Birth Preferences Workshop

This workshop aims to manage expectations and prepare you and your partner so that you can have the best possible experience no matter how your birth goes. Together, we will write out birth preferences for you to share/ develop with your providers/ support team while considering possible shifts should the need arise. Open to expecting parents and their partner or support person. $35 per person, $45 per two people.

Birth Story Workshop

Processing your birth story is an integral part of healing after birth. Allowing space to intentionally sit with an important event, while sometimes difficult, can prove quite cathartic. In this 3-part series, Lucy will spend the first 2 sessions listening to/ helping each partner individually recall their specific experience. In our final session, partners will share, listen and collaborate to bring their stories together.
$100 for a (3) three-session package.

Note: This package purchased when you book your first session, and will include 2 more sessions beyond this initial booking; these two latter sessions will be booked during your first session.
